Want to change the world?  Me, too...

But after 15+ years of helping to facilitate change through a fairly traditional consulting business model, I no longer think that is the way to go.

Declining government commitment to real change and innovation amidst a national debt burden of over $1 trillion; not-for-profit organizations that are stymied with declining operational and project funding while some are as concerned about empire building as they are making a difference; staff and boards that are so risk averse that meaningful change is almost impossible; a project tendering process that is wasteful and incredibly flawed; and a sector that seems tired, beleagured and running out of good ideas, opting instead for off-the-shelf solutions because "that's what sort of worked somewhere else."

I still want to change the world. I still want to make it a healthier, safer, happier and kinder world. But I no longer feel I can effect that kind of change using the same approaches I have in the past within the current climate.

So, I am back at the proverbial drawing board (or white board) rethinking how I can best contribute to making a difference. I have more questions than answers at this point, but several ideas continue to pull at my consciousness:

If you find yourself reading this and thinking it kind of makes sense and would like to chat about a different way of working (with me or just generally), please send me an email or give me a call.
