Using both Macintosh and PC platforms, we design and produce resource and promotional materials to help organizations reach their target audiences in the most cost-effective ways possible. LLSC and MacComm’s Strategic Stakeholder Information SystemAs part of an 18-month project, MacComm worked with Literacy Link South Central in London, Ontario to develop a model that would allow information brokering organizations to strategically plan new partnerships. Two of the resources developed are the Strategic Stakeholder Information System and the Strategic Alliance Grid. Borrowing from communications and social network theory, these two resources allow organizations to map out current and projected relationships, and to predict the likelihood of success of those relationships. QUILL Learning Network’s Hire ValueMacComm completed a ten-month contract as the project coordinator for a provincial pilot project sponsored by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU). One of the deliverables for this particular project was a resource designed for employers to help increase their awareness of adult upgrading programs in their communities. Using the results of both qualitative and quantitative research, the brochures, entitled Hire Value, were designed using a social marketing model as the foundation. The original and flexible design, effective messaging and favourable response from employers prompted MTCU and the National Literacy Secretariat to support the production of the Hire Value brochures for 19 other regions in Ontario. Simcoe County Literacy Network’s Youth DirectoryMacComm was contracted by the Simcoe County Literacy Network to work with community agencies to develop an information resource for youth. Using a qualitative research approach, MacComm worked closely with youth to identify design and content priorities which were then verified through focus groups with youth before production. The result was the design and production of the Simcoe County Youth Directory. Ten thousand copies of the Directory were produced and distributed throughout Simcoe County. Community Literacy of Ontario’s IYV Celebrating Literacy Volunteers ToolkitMacComm worked with Community Literacy of Ontario to design and produce the very successful resource called Celebrating Literacy Volunteers in Your Community: A Promotional Toolkit. One thousand units of the toolkit were produced and distributed to literacy programs in Ontario and Canada. The toolkit is comprised of sample media releases, fact and tip sheets, overhead masters and a CD with electronic versions of these materials. |
